While the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce has good intentions, I feel that too much is being scheduled at the same time. Years ago the only music during Potsdam’s four-day sidewalk sale was the Norwood Brass Firemen’s Band supporting the Potsdam Rescue Squad’s annual ice cream social. A huge crowd of locals attended this event showing their support to their local rescue squad. This year there were two different music groups scheduled to perform on the main stage on Market Street while the Potsdam Rescue Squad ice cream social concert is being performed in Ives Park. There are only so many people attending these events at one time.
