In response to “Shelter Food Donations” which appeared in the Feb. 1-7 issue of North Country This Week: it is up to you if you don't want to donate food to the shelter. I for one think it's great that it helps keep pets in homes. If it helps to feed an animal, be it in the shelter or a loving home, to me I am fine with that. I think it's great that you may have kept an animal from having to go to the shelter because the owner couldn't provide food. If the owner is willing to ask the shelter for assistance, swallowing ones pride to help their pet, they are in a caring home. Please don't judge someone because they want to help keep their pet fed. I think it's excellent the shelter does help the pets and people stay together.
