When I first moved to Riverview Towers it seemed like a comfortable place to live. There were only two smokers on my floor. Now almost everyone smokes. The smell of smoke is so bad that my friends and family refuse to visit. They say they need an air mask. The smokers say non-smokers are liars. The housing authority tells us to put double-guards under the door; I have one and it doesn’t help. The smoke comes in around the rest of the door. I fear for my life. In the last three months I lost three family members to lung cancer, not including other family that I’ve lost to lung cancer. I’m in a battle. I’m fighting to keep a home I can barely afford and fighting my smoking neighbors who will not listen. I pray to God that he help before it’s too late.
