In response to ‘Working the Holidays” which appeared in the Nov. 21-Nov. 27 issue of North Country This Week: Wow! I'm so glad you are happy to have worked the holidays without your kids and family. Not everyone wants to be away from family. Maybe if families took into consideration that holidays are to be together with your own family not have someone else waiting on you and your loved ones, nobody would have to give up being with their loved ones. And no, not everyone is going out to take advantage of sales. Family is everything to me. It's not a job that enjoys you, it's time spent with family. So if you don't want to be around your family that's fine, but don't cut down someone because they would like a day to spend with their kids, husband, mother, etc. People don't live forever and I have learned that the hard way. Someone here today may not be here tomorrow. You can't make up lost time. Nobody should expect you to work all the time. Life isn't about the all mighty dollar.
