The current wave of protests over alleged police brutality toward black men is a true sleight of hand. Simply ignore the true facts of the recent high-profile incidents and refuse to engage in logic and you've got yourself a cause to march for. In places like Canton, you've got yourself a public forum where you can go all silly on us and block traffic from moving. Bet that won over a lot of people to the cause. It's likely that at times the police use more stringent action than they might have to in a particular situation and that this also holds true for encounters with black and other minorities. But then, police like to go home at the end of shift rather than to the morgue. I'm retired from law enforcement and I thank God everyday that I was never placed in the situations that these officers were. There are no winners.
