Regarding “Don’t Keep Obama” (Sound Off, July 20-26): First of all, what powerful politician does not have cronies? Everyone has their own agenda that they want to see our government perform. However, that is simply impossible because our government is based upon the majority opinion of the public, as well of the elected officials who are hopefully doing their job. President Obama’s job is split into three categories: Head of State, Head of Government, and Commander in Chief. Look those terms up because there you will find it is not Obama’s responsibility to vote in Congress. If you have an issue with the ways our country is functioning, in which I do as well, go after your local Congressperson because they are supposed to vote on legislation that best fits the opinions of the people who live in that section. Yes he may talk out of both sides of his face, however, what politician doesn’t? Sometimes when you work hard towards your promises to the people you cannot keep them.
