In response to “She Got What She Deserved,” which ran in the May 30-June 6 edition of North Country This Week, as an eight-year veteran, we were taught if you feel there is something not right, to speak up. This was not right she did not get what she deserved. The Navy taught me deadly force. That force which a person uses with the purpose of causing serious bodily harm or which a reasonable and prudent person would create a substantial risk of causing death or serious bodily harm it is used as a last resort when all lesser means have failed. With this being said, a Taser is used as a last resort also. She did not deserve to be Tased. This is called escalation of force. She was not an immigrant she was a U.S. citizen.
