I know I made a mistake when I drove after having a few drinks last summer. However, I did not have three children in my car. I did not have a hit-and-run and leave the scene of the accident. I did not refuse a B.A.C. test. I was not driving reckless nor did I damage any property. I did not flee the police. I was not consuming alcohol in my vehicle and furthermore I did have a registered vehicle. Unlike the case with the former Madrid Justice, who under an apparent exception of "Rob's Policy," will get one-year interim probation. My concern is that this has set a low bar for anyone who commits the same violations, to be treated the same as the former judge has been. Or is it that we have a double standard in our system?
