Don’t set the speed limit

Dear Relax (“Relax and Enjoy the Ride,” Sound Off, March 7-13), by all means, go as slow as you like and enjoy the scenery, but please do not force your choice on everyone else. People are commuting and might not be at liberty to share your choice at the time you have chosen to enjoy the scenery. Here’s a novel idea: Pull over and let other folks be on their way. It is just plain courtesy to not obstruct to others. What you are doing is dangerous. People have a reasonable expectation to travel at the posted limit when conditions are good. It is safest to travel at the speed of traffic. Going too fast or too slow is hazardous. I would rather have NYS-DOT set the speed limits, not you.
