I am an avid animal lover and people who leave their pets in cars while shopping or eating at a restaurant should be issued tickets and have their animals taken away. To leave a pet in the car for a couple of minutes while picking up something at a stop-and-go or a meal ordered for takeout seems fair enough, but to leave them in the car in the heat while you sit and feed your face is a travesty and a crime. Please, if you see a pet in the car for a long period of time, call the police or go find the owner and tell them it’s against the law. Pets are like our children. Would you leave your toddler in the car while you go eat?
