Don’t like, don’t support

I’m tired of people telling me that hunting is a part of the North Country lifestyle and to move away if I don’t like it. Stop being ignorant. I was born and raised in the North Country and have the same rights to be here as anyone else. I consider myself to be an outdoors-type and enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, etc. I don’t, however, enjoy seeing pictures of dead animals. Those who hunt are not the majority; there are just as many of us out there who don’t hunt and don’t wish to see these photos. Do what you want, hunters; I won’t try to shove my lifestyle and beliefs down your throat, but please do me the same favor and don’t shove yours down mine. As far as “if you don’t like it, don’t look”, that’s difficult when pictures are on the front page of the paper or the NorthCountryNow.com homepage. Hey, there’s an idea! Perhaps those of us who don’t like the photos should stop supporting NorthCountryNow.com? Don’t pick it up, don’t visit the website, don’t advertise in it. Since “if you don’t like it, don’t look” is the view that NCN seems to support, I guess that’s what we need to do.
