In response to “Meeting was a Joke” (Sound Off, Sept. 7-13): Everyone is having hard times, and that includes county workers. I don’t believe the tax cap will exceed 2% just because county workers want to save their own jobs. Hello people! Our government has no money. Everyone thinks that things will get done and the government will just have the funds to pay for it, print some more money! The fact is we as a country are broke and it sucks. Because of the lack of leadership in the past we are going to have to pay more taxes. It’s not necessarily the county employees’ fault, but I think they are finally being realistic, and unfortunately, that means taxpayers will need to pay for past mistakes. But don’t blame county workers…blame the federal government.
