It appears that dissolving the Village of Potsdam is gaining interest again. Do it right this time. Let's have a study done for the entire Town of Potsdam, which includes not only the township but also the villages of Potsdam and Norwood. This should be done because of the tax implications that all parties will incur if a change should take place. Why should the Village of Potsdam, which is the most fiscally stressed Village in New York State pass on their financial problems to a few more residents in the township? These township residents did nothing to put the Village of Potsdam in its present fiscal state. I hope that our Potsdam Town officials will contact state representatives and ask for a special election to include all eligible voters in the township to have a say the next time that dissolving the Village of Potsdam becomes a voting issue.
