In response to the Sound Off “Price of Life” which ran in the Aug. 9-15 issue of North Country This Week: The price of life is around $65,000, as the front page story clearly outlined. Unless you are independently wealthy, most people would have great difficulty paying for that. The cost is simply too high. No one should have to pay for the difference for Joe Blow from down the road who has Medicare, Medicaid and other government provided insurance that will not cover the cost. The entire health care system is flawed. Do not insult someone for not wanting to pay their annual salary (or two-three years salary) for some – all while others do not pay a dime. If $65,000 is no big deal to you, step up and pay their bill for them.
