My question is what does a 20-year-old person, who is no longer eligible to be under the parents dental/visions benefits, do when they have a dental emergency? This person works full time but there are no benefits for young adults anymore when they have the minimum wage job. Are there any programs for these young adults or anything being offered by dentists that I am not aware of? I would really appreciate some feedback on this situation. We now have our kids covered under our health insurance until they are 26 but not their teeth. Have you ever had a toothache? It is one of the worst pains to have and who wants to have their teeth pulled because it is the only solution you can afford? A root canal is $1800. What 20-year-old can afford that?
