Here goes DEC again! They allowed these camps in Colton for over three decades and did nothing about them. Now, after being well established and well used, DEC wants to walk in and demolish them without so much as a glancing thought to what has been, will be, and is. Personally, I don't think it should be possible to add even one more camp there as the ones now there are at least "grandfathered" over decades of use. Now they want to completely disregard the history and existence of those camps as though they have been illegal for all this time! Ok, stop further camps… but get your fingers back into your own pockets and out of theirs! All that will happen is the camps will be demolished, and then the DEC will put in more ATV, UTV and other smoggy, air and oil polluting vehicles of several kinds, to go thru there instead! DEC needs to be demolished, not the camps! DEC is incompetent. If they did what they were intended to do, there would be no problem.
