Cuomo, not Gregory, to blame

I think the person attacking Bill Gregory for his letter totally missed the point. Mr. Gregory does not want to give up and close the school. Rather, he’s giving NYS’s fearless leader a reality check. We have lost 25 positions. That’s not a small number. The “honorable” Cuomo seems to think we can function with these cuts. This is not just about 25 positions, but about elementary school class sizes of 25 and up and secondary students getting more study halls and fewer classes. Did you miss the part about the 2 year plan? So next year we get even less money. I have worked for a few superintendents and Mr. Gregory is one of the best. He truly cares about our students and all the employees. He just had to do a job that nobody who has a heart likes to do. He did not cause this crisis, but he has to find a way to make it work. If you want to get angry at someone, direct it towards the one who didn’t breathe a word of his little agenda until he was sworn in and then immediately took aim at those who put him in office. Mr. Gregory didn’t indiscriminately cut funding to all schools across NY. He doesn’t believe poverty only exists in NYC. Get ready for a fight because Mr. Gregory has a lot of fans.
