In response to “Why No News on Murder” (Sound Off, Nov. 30-Dec. 6), while I completely understand the frustration and upset that goes with a situation like this, I think we as a society are certainly suffering from the “CSI Effect.” Crimes such as murders aren’t solved in an hour-long episode. In real life things take days, months if not years to collect the proper evidence, analyze such evidence and then charge the suspected party. As far as the papers pushing for answers I commend the Potsdam Police for not releasing statements until they have everything in order because as we can see the media can’t always be trusted to publish the truth as the original story I personally heard on the radio is something completely opposite from the statements the police have since made. I certainly cannot wait for the person responsible to be charged and get justice for Garrett. I also have faith in our Potsdam Police officers as I know they are working long hard hours to do everything they can and certainly have NOT forgotten about Garrett or this case.
