I enjoyed the recent article “Coyote Hunter Says Dogs are Necessary” in the Feb. 15-21 issue of North Country This Week. It was well-balanced and articulated. It presented two sides of the argument fairly. I would like to add a third perspective. I think we should keep in mind that coyotes innately are neither better or worse than any other species on God’s green earth. For coyotes it’s about getting the basics to survive, including food and it’s also about preserving and perpetuating the species. As it is for the birds and the bees and the flowers and trees and humans. I am not saying that if you encounter a coyote that you should tip your hat and try to engage it in conversation. I just wanted to add another valid perspective to the other two valid perspectives.
