Coyote harvest?

Okay, I'm confused. We hunters have an open season on coyotes and bobcats? Did the coyote hunter eat the coyote or shoot it for sport? I see there is also an open season for bobcats. Are hunters eating these animals? Yes, my hunting and fishing licenses fund environmental preservation, but I only keep a fish if I intend to eat it or shoot a deer for meat. Unless you ate that coyote, I agree with the other posts, it was a kill, not a harvest. I agree the coyote population needs to be kept in check. Bo cats are rare in this area, why would you shoot one? Unless the wild dogs and cats are threatening your property, leave them alone! Wild life management for nuisance animals should be handled by the DEC and only taken if they are a nuisance to your property or you intend to use them on your supper table. Just saying my sound off!
