In response to “Faulty Reasoning” (Sound Off, Jan. 19-25): There are so many reasons why raises are given, and so much goes on behind the scenes that many of us in the county will never understand unless we take time and attend a board meeting, and speak with board members and legislators. I know many county employees and they are well deserving of an additional pay raise. They have much responsibility and work long and hard hours. I also find it funny that you say “The Rich keep getting Richer.” Many of these people are far from rich. They are the middle class, paying a fortune for their children’s college educations and getting hit hard in taxes. If they are getting a raise…it’s well deserved.
