County healthcare costs

In response to the story "SLC Chair Says Closing Gap Will Be Too Tough," which appeared in the Sept. 5-11 issue of North Country This Week: Our county chairman states county healthcare for a week exceeds one million dollars. Very hard to believe but I guess this would be a good place to start closing the gap. How about county employees start contributing more for healthcare like the rest of us do? How about retired country employees start paying their Medicare premiums like the rest of us do? How about putting country employees on the wonderful Obamacare health plan; like many of us are now on? A million dollars a week for county healthcare is ridiculous. How much more can the average county taxpayer stand?
