There is a reason it is so difficult to turn left off Court Street in Canton into the parking lot behind the old fire station: it is dangerous and disruptive to the flow of traffic. It is not safe to turn through a lane of stopped traffic waiting to go straight and into a lane of potentially moving traffic, lining up to turn right. I have witnessed near collisions a number of times. Also, when you stop there waiting to get through that stopped traffic, you are causing traffic to back up into the Main Street intersection causing gridlock. Again, I have seen this happen many times. I would suggest you enter that parking lot as is intended – not only is it easier, safer, and less disruptive; it is also legal. Simply drive down Main Street one block further – if you are traveling west – or turn off of Main Street one block earlier – if you are traveling east – and enter the parking lot off of Hodskin Street.
