Lets get off ice and bring back low cost, low energy roller rinks. Maxy Hall at SUNY Potsdam will end ice skating this summer saving over $12,000-15,000 per month. The people who made this decision are forward thinking and facing fiscal reality. There are several ice areas in the area that provide recreation for our youth at great expense. Lets face reality; increasing energy costs are inevitable, just look at the instability Bush's war of choice has caused in the Middle East, and taxpayers are close to revolting and loosing the ability to pay taxes on their homes. Lets bring back roller rinks. It is low cost and low maintenance. This is a no brainier! Roller rinks were good enough for our grandparents and their grandparents; they're still good enough for the recreation needs of the youth today.
