I am really disappointed that such a family-friendly community would be so discriminatory towards nursing mothers. In the last year or so I have spoken to moms that were not allowed into a local courtroom because they were nursing, were asked to stop breastfeeding in a social services office and harassed at a local restaurant for breastfeeding! Please, educate yourselves: www.womenshealth.gov, NYS Civil Rights law, Section 79-e, www.surgeongeneral.gov/library/calls/breastfeeding. Breast milk is unequivocally the optimal food for infants, and discriminating is against the law. Whether or not your family chooses to breast feed, no one has the right to hinder a mother from breastfeeding anywhere “she is otherwise authorized to be.”
