I am writing this deeply disturbed reading a Sound Off titled “Breastfeeding in Church” which appeared in the issue of North Country This Week Aug. 30 - Sept. 5. It is very disturbing to know that North Country This Week would publish such an unscrupulous post which makes fun of breastfeeding in public or in private which is state and a national law. It is a woman's right to be able to breast feed in public and in private. I condemn North Country This Week for such an indecent and unlawful post not just questioning and ridiculing a national and state law but comparing breastfeeding to pornography. Unbelievable! Civil Rights Law § 79-e (1994) permits a mother to breastfeed her child in any public or private location, just in case you are not aware. I highly urge North Country This Week retract this post and apologize for their unscrupulous action! This is not exactly an ideal way to increase your readership. As a citizen of this wonderful nation and a proud member of this beautiful community I am deeply anguished by this act which questions the papers credibility and inclinations.
