In response to “Halloween Nonsense,” while I agree these employees are very blessed to have jobs with decent benefits, I am surprised that you are infuriated by these employees partaking in a form of team building while also enjoying themselves with a little Halloween fun. I can guarantee that these same employees did not stop their daily work routine by wearing a Halloween costume, other than maybe the 30 seconds that was probably on their lunch break, to take a group photo. These employees work 40 plus hours a week with the public; some have seen things we can only imagine on a daily basis. As far as administration and their union reps, they as employees can’t just decide to wear costumes. It has to be a decision made by them. So I think in their minds, they are allowing their employees somewhat of a break from their normally stressful atmosphere and have a little fun, while continuing to do their jobs. I feel it is a nice change for the public to see these workers as human beings with families, they can relate to. I for one truly hope that I never become so jaded in life to begrudge anyone a little harmless fun, especially if it doesn’t interfere in their daily work tasks. So in closing, I can’t wait to see the wonderful fun things they have planned for the upcoming holiday season!
