Border Patrol harassment

I'm a little shocked at so many people's sheep-like acceptance of routine Border Patrol harassment. Without probable cause, why should we have to explain at some arbitrary roadblock just where we're going and what we plan to do there? Am I not supposed to go to Burlington? To Rochester? To Syracuse? Do I need to explain to someone in uniform that I plan to go to a concert? To shop? To see my wife in the hospital? To have a drink with an old friend? So what? As for routine, random car searches; aren't there laws about illegal search and seizure? Come on, people. Aren't we forgetting an awful lot here? Legitimate state and local police theoretically, at least, operate to protect and serve under legal constraints. Apparently the Border Patrol can't be bothered with such things. Who protects us from the Border Patrol?
