Beer consumers beware: Outdated beer is and has been on the shelves in stores throughout the Canton/Potsdam area. Some beer distributors specifically target urban areas and college towns to dump outdated beer. It would benefit all beer consumers to learn the various date stamps used by Yuengling (Julian date) and other brewers that gives us an idea how old or fresh the beer is. Yesterday, I called Yuengling in PA to notify them of outdated (over 3 months) product being sold in Potsdam. The sales manager takes this issue of old beer being sold very seriously. Old beer can become “skunky” and stale. We are paying top dollar for beer in this area. Learn to get value for your dollar.
