A total of $60,000 two years ago, $30,000 last year. Now we are back to $60,000 for the coming year. Is the Bassmaster tournament funding to become a regular line in the county budget? If there was $3 million in revenue generated from the tournament, wouldn’t it make sense to ask all of the hotels, restaurants, stores, marinas, etc. that are reaping these benefits, to pony up the $60,000? The tournament is a great thing, but so are many of the other festivals and concert series in the county. Why is $60,000 of a budget line that totals $67,000 for the entire county, going to the Bassmaster tournament?
