Let us balance the Post Office budget. Everyone else has to. Close a few post office locations if need be. Raise rates 20% across the board. Yes, even go to a five-day workweek. Everyone likes the weekend off. The mail personal are more important than Expensive Physical Post Offices. Years ago, the smaller post offices were part of larger local stores. No, I did not say to go to that. I bet Postal Regulations would not allow it. I say, balance the budget. Start with postage raise, then physical plant shut down. This means no expensive PO boxes and heated buildings. Just stop and drop buildings disperse outgoing mail and hold presorted mail later gathered by delivery carriers.
