It’s too bad it took a public out cry for Reverend Howard J. Venette to say he was sorry for his knee jerk decision to have his sextons to remove all those articles from the graves right before the holiday. It was a stupid decision that can’t be undone. I for one can find that his apology rings hollow, because as sexton Bill Simmons stated: they wanted to send a message. To me this was that they are vindictive and mean. They are in charge because they have rules that go back some 50 years and rules are rules. Since the Reverend showed he’s wanted to put his draconian rules in place. His response is always the same the rules are the rules. I am sorry let’s pray.
