In response to the “Corrupt County” which ran in the June 13 issue of North Country This Week: you are right! How many more serious cases are going to be pushed under the rug and left to be forgotten because the county judge dismisses them all because of minor mishaps? Let's count so far some of the major ones, a while back a DWI that killed a Massena couple, the man was found innocent because of jurisdiction? The Trickey case involving a murder, found innocent. A child molester and sexual predator, found innocent. The murder of Garrett Phillips and the FIRST trial of Oral "Nick" Hillary where he was let go because of bullying. Now, the Bartlett case of murdering two elderly people and burying them in the back yard with a confession to an officer that, "I helped her pass on?” The jury was clearly deadlocked on at least two different jurors and the judge basically bullied the jury telling them he refused to let the case be deadlocked and to decide now. It's not going to surprise me one bit the secondtrial of Hillary, the judge will let him off free as well. What's going on people? Why do we still have this judge in office? Come to St. Lawrence County where serious crimes are committed, just to watch these animals be set free. Such disgust!
