I would just like to take a minute and address this recent opting out of state testing because it's too hard. Let me tell you a little something about life being hard. These days, not having Wi-Fi constitutes a hard day. Facebook crashing is a tragedy. These tests are difficult, so instead of tackling them head on, we are bowing our heads in defeat and teaching our kids that when something is hard, you just quit. It's sad to watch all of you encouraging your children to be quitters when the game gets rough. Normandy was hard, did we turn around and opt out? Nope. Eating 60 hotdogs in 20 minutes was hard, but Joey Chestnut did it, because he's an American. Take the test, don't let the test take you.
