In response to “Don’t Complain, Teach” (Sound Off, April 6-12): Aides are a necessity for students with disabilities. Before you make statements saying schools should get rid of their aides, walk in a special education teacher’s shoes for a day without an aide. Teachers can handle more students, but as the student-to-teacher ratio increases, the quality of their education decreases. In addition, JV and Varsity coaches are paid, not volunteers. How do you expect games to stay within the school district? Are the teams expected to compete against themselves?
