The Potsdam School system has a serious problem of not adequately addressing bullying by students. There have been cases that caused mental and physical harm and one case I know of in which a family was driven from the area because the school refused to address the bullying of very young students. The school can have a program of providing parents with information about suicide and resources, but they are refusing to address their role in allowing bullying within their walls and not addressing mental health issues that they are most certainly aware of. Teachers and administrators need to own their role in this shameful saga and stop pretending they don’t have responsibility.
