The letter “Canton Mayor, Trustee In Violation of ABC Law” (April 25-May 1) deserves a response. The writer stated the ABC law correctly, but he has interpreted it wrong. No police chief or officer may have an ABC license. The police chief controls the department, not the mayor or the village board. Any officer may report an ABC violation. So there is no Sec. 128 violation. – A retired police officer.
