MADRID -- St. Lawrence County Soil and Water will offer the NYS DEC required four-hour Erosion and Sediment Control training for contractors and developers.
The training will be held March 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Madrid Community Center, 1835 State Highway 345, Madrid.
This training is required for all contractors working on projects that disturb more than one acre of soil and have a storm water permit from the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.
The permit will require that contractors moving dirt at those sites have at least one trained employee on site on a daily basis. Training is good for three years.
Contractors and developers will have to preregister for the training to receive credits.
The training will cost $75 for certification, reference materials and refreshments. Registration needs to be in by March 18.
