POTSDAM – Potsdam is one of 25 locations designated as “Safe Places To Live if Bad Things Happen.”
The Potsdam Public Library recently received a copy of "Relocate: 25 Great Bug Out Communities," that lists Potsdam as one of those places.
The subtitle is "Safe Places To Live If Bad Things Happen - Wonderful Places To Call Home If They Don't."
The first few pages give the book "a bit of a survivalist slant, but the basic theme is that this is a good place to be in good times or bad," said Village Administrator David Fenton.
Library Director Pat Musante told Fenton they have one copy now and would try to obtain more.
"It's always nice to be recognized by someone from outside the area who appreciates the value of our community," Fenton said.
The author, Dave Stebbins, lives in a passive-solar-powered home he built in a small community, and teaches sustainable energy classes at a community college, according to publicity for the book,
