Funeral services for Gerald Ferguson, age 48, of State Highway 812, Ogdensburg will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Robert Longbottom officiating. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 from 2 - 6 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Ferguson passed away Thursday morning at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.
Mr. Ferguson is survived by his daughter, Mackenzie Ferguson, Ogdensburg; his father, Gerald Ferguson, Ogdensburg, his brother, John Ferguson and his wife, Susie, Ogdensburg; his sister, Colleen Ferguson, of Ogdensburg; his niece, Megan Ferguson his nephew, Matthew Ferguson; several aunts, and uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, Rosemary, in December 2005.
Jerry was born on January 1, 1964 in Ogdensburg, the son of Gerald and Rosemary Bell Ferguson. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1982. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1982 to 1989. He also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves at Griffith Air Base. Jerry first worked for Gary Iron’s Construction. He also worked at River Road Coffee in Massena for a short while. He later worked for New York State Department of Corrections in Fishkill, NY transferring to Ogdensburg Correctional Facility, and retiring from Riverview Correctional Facility in 2006 due to ill health. He also worked part time at Frary Medical Transport.
Jerry was a member of the Moose. He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles, snowmobiling and watching Stanley Cup Hockey.
