Edna M. Seal, age 89, of Parishville, passed away on December 2, 2012 at the Highland Nursing Home in Massena, where she had been a patient since February 4, 2008.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 6th at 9:30 a.m. at the Fairview Cemetery in Parishville, with Rev. Lee Sweeney celebrant. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Potsdam Humane Society.
Edna is survived by her sister, Clarice Pederson of Goose Creek, SC and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and James Seal; her sisters, Rose Tompson, Ethel Davies and Florence Hodson; and her parents.
Edna M. Seal was born on February 27, 1923 in New Tredegao in South Wales, UK to the late Frederick Seal and Susan Williams. She attended local schools in the United Kingdom. She served in the Royal Air Force over there during WWII from July 5, 1941 to March 9, 1946. She came to the United States in the early 1950’s. She became an official United States citizen on May 8, 1959. She settled in New York City. She lived on Staten Island. She worked for 40 years as a senior clerk for W.R. Grace. After her retirement she moved to the North Country.
Edna was an avid reader and she loved her dear dog Sheeba.
