Sophomore Trevor Blackwell (Pittsford, NY) and freshman Marco Parisi (Guilford, CT) of the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team were picked as Liberty League All-Stars when the awards were announced on Thursday, with each gaining Honorable Mention All-Star status.
Blackwell, a second-year defender, was picked as a Liberty League Honorable Mention All-Star for the second straight season. Despite being one of the best backs in the conference, Blackwell has been among Clarkson's top offensive weapons in his two seasons as well. This year he scored one goal and added an assist as a frequent target of corner kick chances and ranked third on the team with 15 shots. Last season he had a pair of goals, both game-winners.
Parisi was Clarkson's most dynamic offensive player in 2012, his first season of collegiate competition. The striker/midfielder led the team with 23 shots and was far and away the team leader in goals (6) and points (12). He scored all of his goals in league play, including one against Hobart, three against Bard, and two more against Vassar. His six goals in a three-game conference stretch were the most by any Clarkson player since 1999.
