Funeral services for Martha Hulett Crownhart of Leesburg, FL, and also of Livingston Drive, Ogdensburg, will be held on Monday, August 9, 2010, at Frary Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lorraine A. Wills officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburgh Cemetery. Mrs. Crownhart passed away on August 4, 2010, at her camp at Livingston Drive surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Crownhart is survived by her husband, Dan; three daughters, Deborah A. Tomkiell of Cleveland, OH, Susan Amadeus of Leesburg, FL and Barbara Hart of Lakeport; five grandchildren, Andrew Wright, Austin Horna, Thomas Hart, Sarah Hart and Erica Hart; and one great-grandchild, Alyssa Wright. She was predeceased by one brother, Ned, who died in infancy.
Mrs. Crownhart was born on May 15, 1936, in Ogdensburg, the daughter of Edwin B. and Elma (Chase) Hulett. She graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1954 and Cazenovia College in 1956. She married Dan P. Crownhart on January 25, 1958, at the Presbyterian Church in Ogdensburg. She worked as a Teacher’s Aide for North Syracuse School System and also for North Babylon School Systems.
Mrs. Crownhart was the past president of North Syracuse Lionettes, a member of Village Singers, North Syracuse Meals on Wheels of North Syracuse. Mrs. Crownhart enjoyed summers at the family camp on the St. Lawrence River, The Golden Girls “The Gang” and spending time with family especially her children and grandchildren.
