Friday’s performance of Beauty and the Beast at Snell Theater had a bit more excitement than anticipated by the audience. The theater had a small fire and audience had to be evacuated. Potsdam Fire Department responded quickly and remained until problem solved. Plaudits to Amy Flack, Executive Director, and her fabulous staff who handled the matter as professionals, kept everyone well informed and returned the audience to their seats for a full performance of the fabulous production.
Editor’s Note: Jared T. Carey, production manager for Community Performance Series, says there was not a fire at the performance of Beauty & The Beast. “We used theatrical haze in the show and it set off the fire alarms at which point we had to evacuate the building as a matter of standard protocol,” he said.
