To the Editor
I had earlier sent a letter requesting participation in the annual Norwood Fourth of July Parade and those who responded were numerous. Robert Haggett is again to be commended for this project as it has grown each year.
There I was one concern during the parade that does not reflect on Mr. Haggett’s work, there was a lot of throwing of candy from floats, instead of passing out the candy to spectators, this is a safety matter as many children were running into the road to retrieve the candy and with many high profile vehicles, drivers may not always see the children. It is my hope that in the future that those sponsoring floats or walking will pass out their candy and other items instead of throwing the items.
Once again I commend Mr. Haggett and his project and hope that he will continue the tradition to celebrate the Fourth.
