The Middle School Division B Science Olympiad competition was recently held at SUNY Potsdam for schools in Northern New York.
This year's event was planned, organized and supervised by the students.
Ken Plumb's Criminal Justice students were able to guide teams through "Science Crime Busters," an event where proper CSI practices are applied to a staged crime scene.
Leanne Saxby's Allied Health class were the event coordinators for Anatomy, working with the seven teams at four stations covering the digestive and respiratory systems. The event stressed process skills which included data collection, observations, inferences, predictions, calculations, analyses and conclusions.
Along with professors, instructors and college students from SUNY Potsdam, the students from Seaway Career and Technical Education Center assisted.
