Stanley E. Foster , 95, Hannawa Falls. Funeral services for 95-year old Mr. Stanley E. Foster will be held at the Seymour Funeral Home in Potsdam on Monday, July 19, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Donald Manfred officiating. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Sunday afternoon and evening from 4 to 8 p.m. Mr. Foster died at his home in Hannawa Falls on Thursday, July 15.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Faye Foster of Hannawa Falls; a son-in-law Glenn F. Collins of Parishville; two granddaughters, Megan L. and Kate E. Foster both of Hannawa Falls; a grandson Seth M. Foster of El Paso, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Stanley was predeceased by his wife Margaret R. foster who died Oct. 2, 2003, and a daughter, Sharon F. Collins who died Apr. 18, 1978, along with two brothers Dalton and Lloyd Foster.
Stanley was born in Parishville, on October 5, 1914, the son of Walter and Ester (Bouck) Foster. He graduated from Parishville High School and served in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater in WW II. After the war he returned to his job at the New York Telephone Co. in Potsdam where he worked as a cable splicer and line tester. Stanley retired after forty years of employment in 1977.
He married Margaret Elizabeth Rheaume in St. Mary’s Church in Potsdam on February 23, 1946.
