Funeral Services for Bill Swan, age 72, of Patterson St., will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Cathedral with Rev. Joe Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Frary Funeral Home. Mr. Swan passed away unexpectedly as a result of a car accident, Wednesday, November 10, 2010.
Mr. Swan is survived by his brother, George Swan; his sister, Joan Bromley; and 10 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, and 14 great great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Swan was born May 5, 1938 to George and Lucille Swan. He Graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy in 1957. Mr. Swan received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army in January of 1966. Mr. Swan first went to work at E.D. Briggs Produce, and later at J.J. Newburry. He retired from the St. Lawrence Psych Center where he worked for over 25 years.
He volunteered at NYSDOC. He also sand at many weddings and funerals. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Mary’s Choir, Showtime, and also the Canton Goldeniers.
He enjoyed singing, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering his time.
