Yvonne A. Miller, 51, formerly of Fort Covington

SNYE, Quebec – Yvonne A. Miller, 51, 63 McDonald Ave., passed away Thursday evening, October 24, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, after battling cancer for the past four years.

Yvonne was born March 3, 1962, in Cornwall, ON, daughter of the late Harry T. and Irene A. Thompson Jacobs. She attended St. Regis Mohawk School, Salmon River, and in Rochester, and graduated from GUSS, in Cornwall, in 1980. She married Steven M. Miller on October 18, 1986, in Fort Covington, NY. He predeceased her on January 17, 1997.

Yvonne worked in finance at the Mohawk Council as a payroll officer for 12 years until she became ill. She adored her grandson Kent. She liked to golf, enjoyed going to lacrosse games. Yvonne also enjoyed doing home interior decorating; and she enjoyed going to the Eagles concert.

Yvonne is survived by a son, Dylan Miller, and a daughter, Neena Miller, both at home; her grandson, Kent; her sisters, Liz Jacobs, Cornwall Island, Rosemarie and Steven Jacobs, Hogansburg; her brothers, Angus Jacobs, and Louis Jacobs, both of Hogansburg; and her brother-in-laws, Glenn and Roz Miller, Russell, ON, Jim and Jodi Miller, Deltona, FL, and Bob Dall, Lewiston, NY; and her step father, Wayne MacDonald, Snye.

She is predeceased by her father, Harry, on February 12, 1990, and her mother, Irene, on March 17, 2004; and two brothers, Harold J. Jacobs, on July 7, 1979, and Russell Jacobs, in infancy.

Friends may call at Homemakers, Snye, Que., starting at 12 noon Sunday, until 3:00 PM on Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, at 4:00 PM at the St. Regis Catholic Church, with Rev. Jack Downs celebrating. Burial will be at St. Lawrence Cemetery, St. Regis, Quebec at a later date.

Her Pall Bearers will be Colby King-Jacobs, Wesley Jacobs, Tyler Jacobs, Harrison Jacobs, Lakota Jacobs, and Chad Hart.
