William C. Conliffe, 93, Ogdensburg

Funeral services for William C. Conliffe, age 93m of Ogdensburg will be held on Saturday, Sept 21, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Ogdensburg with Rev. Laurena Will officiating. His place of rest will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held also on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the church. Mr. Conliffe passed away Wednesday, Sept 11, 2013 at the Riverledge Healthcare Facility.

Surviving is his wife Eleanor of 53 years; a daughter, Karen Percy and her husband Duane Cruttenden of Sebring, FL; sisters, Isabel Dufore of Oswego and Margaret Turnbull of Port Richey, FL; grandchildren, James Percy and his wife Caroline of Jacksonville, FL, Brett Percy of Harleysville, PA, Meredith Booz and her husband Robert of Lansdale, PA and Jonathan Percy and his wife Michelle of Greensburg, PA; great-grandchildren Katherine Booz, Sarah Booz and Thomas Percy and several nieces, nephews & cousins.

Two sisters, Dorothy Whiston and Evelyn (Peggy) Pelletier predeceased him.

Bill was born on July 20, 1920 in Aultsville, Ontario Canada, a son of the late William & Evelyn (Clark) Conliffe. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and entered the US Army Air Corp during WWII and served in Central Burma as a Med Tech. He also received The American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal & the World War II Victory Medal during his enlistment.

He worked at Diamond National and General Motors as a Millwright during his career, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ogdensburg where he also served as a Deacon for many years.

He was an active bowler in the Ogdensburg Bowling League and received several trophies for his ability. He was a longtime blood donor, volunteered for Meal’s on Wheels, enjoyed his pets and was a very hard worker throughout his lifetime.
